Bunker Hill Village

The city of 1307 homes was founded in 1954. They are very proud of their quiet, wooded environment, and as a community, they work hard to preserve it for future generations. Their homes are located in a truly unique area, and as Houston continues to grow, the environment in the Memorial Villages will become even more in demand.

The Memorial Villages Police Department serves Bunker Hill, Piney Point and Hunters Creek Villages. The department is nationally accredited and plays a very important role in the communities in addition to their policing responsibilities.  They are involved in many community-related projects such as DARE, GREAT, and the Community Network. They also provide a number of services, including House Watch that you will need to become more familiar with. Please feel free to give Gary Brye, Chief of Police, a call or stop in to meet him. The police station is located at 11981 Memorial Drive.

The Village Fire Department serves six Memorial Villages (Bunker Hill, Hedwig, Hilshire, Hunters Creek, Piney Point and Spring Valley). The department has the most up-to-date equipment available and highly trained personnel to use it. They have an Insurance Service Organization (ISO) rating of “2” of which they are very proud of. Make certain that your homeowners insurance carrier is giving you credit for this. Recognition of this rating by your carrier can save money on fire insurance.  Dave Foster, Fire Chief, will be happy to visit with you and answer any questions you may have.  The station is located at 901 Corbindale in Hedwig Village.

The Spring Branch Independent School District is one of the most highly rated districts in the state. Recently, Frostwood Elementary School, Memorial Middle School, and Memorial High School were included on a list, compiled by Texas Monthly, of the best public schools in Texas. Elementary age children attend Frostwood, Bunker Hill or Memorial Drive Elementary. Each of these schools is excellent. The middle schools that serve the village are Memorial Middle School to the west and Spring Branch Middle School on Piney Point Road. The senior high school is Memorial High School that provides a very competitive environment for those who plan to attend college. Several of these schools have received National Exemplary School recognition.
